    EQ:Gnome Overview

Post by swath on Thu Oct 13, 2011 8:34 pm

Gnomes are a race hailing from the underground city of Ak'Anon. They are the shortest of all of Norrath's races, and, as they were created by the god Brell, are cousins to the dwarves of Kaladim.

Gnomes principally known for being inquisitive and mechanically-inclined. The innovative nature of the gnomish people has led them, on multiple occasions, to stumble over previously undiscovered lands. Gnomish explorer-pirates, under Captain Nalot with their ship Icebreaker were responsible for the discovery of the frozen wastelands of Velious. Gnomes also uncovered the underlands of Antonica, the Depths of Darkhollow.

At level 16, gnomes receive their own racial tradeskill: tinkering. This is especially useful for producing fireworks, compasses, and other assorted gadgets (notably, Ambleshift's Amazing Automated Amalgamator).

Gnomes are typically more accepting of evil races and classes, as they have a mixture of both good and evil residing in their city. This, however, does not imply that they always get along. Due to the inquisitive minds, they have a strong connection to many magics. Young gnomes may become clerics, enchanters, magicians, necromancers, paladins, rogues, shadow knights, warriors, and wizards.
